I hope you are all ready for the 2017 Run Hertford event on Sunday 14th May, 2017! We had a great turnout last year with over 250 runners and are expecting more many more this year with Haileybury signing up their pupils and staff to support our charity this year. If you havent already registered to run you can do so on this website, links are on the home page.
This year we have electronic timing devices for all and a digital clock which will be mounted over the front door with huge digits – you will be able to see your time when you leave and when you return. Alot of entrants last year had fitbit or similar watches and were able to time themselves that way also.
The routes are going to altered this year, but still mainly in Hartham Park to make them safer and will be clearly marked by arrows either at eye level, but some may be on the grass, so keep a look out for them. Marshals will be positioned at all the major turns on the route. Water is available at the turning point in Ware for the 10K runners and at the end finish line.
Our lovely Mayor of Hertford Linda Radford, will be starting the run this year and handing out medals to all the finishers.
There is no parking at Vale House but ample parking in Sainsburys car park and Hartham Common car park for a small charge.
Registration will start promptly at 8.00 a.m. with a view to starting the race as near to 10 a.m. as possible.
Our own tea rooms are open at Vale House and there will be sausage and bacon rolls plus lots of home made cakes and snacks. We have a great expresso machine, and there will be a variety of Lattes, Capuccino’s and Expressos available to buy, plus Teapig teas.
Once again this is also a family day out and a day when your family and friends can come and spectate, cheer you on and enjoy the day. There will be live, inspiring music from a local singer, a tombola stall, and ice creams. Our back garden will be open like last year for you to sit and enjoy your food after the race.
Photographs will be taken of the event and displayed on our website or you to download for free this year.
We will keep our fingers crossed for fine weather so that we can all enjoy a great day out for the whole family – hope to see you all there.
